Picking up "Mask Maker" Bags!
For those of you who have volunteered to sew masks today was pick up day. If you didn't get your bag we will have the remaining bags on the porch tomorrow morning.
So about elastic--it's in very short supply which is a big problem.
We bought 2 1/2" wide elastic. Don't panic you can cut this into 1/4" strips and it won't fray. Cut slow and carefully with scissors. 1 yard will give you 10 yards. You can't tie this into a knot as suggested in the patterns but you can sew through it easily. The mask patterns suggested by Bassett and in the link below. There is another very easy pattern that I like, How to make a Mask from The Turban Project so just google it.
We are expecting 1/8" elastic to arrive this week so if you are making more masks we can gve you the 1/8" elastic.
When you finish your masks bring them back to us. Do not take them to Bassett or any other drop off point
Keep Calm and Make a Mask!
The fabric we will give you is 200 thread count white 100% cotton from Moda. We will give you 2 yards plus a little more for cutting slips. Cut strips 9" wide for mask #1. Cut strips 8" wide for mask #2. Included will be 8 yards plus a little of elastic. Cut elastic as indicated on pattern. You will get 2 masks from each strip 8 masks from each yard. Total of 16 masks.
Thank you for offering to make masks. You are a hero!!
