Charm it up! Cutting fabric isn't really an exciting part of piecing quilts so why not use some fabric that is already cut for you? Charms are 5" squares and there are always 42 squares in each pack, all from the same collection. You will probably get some doubles, most collections don't have 42 different fabrics in them. We have a big assortment of charms and lots of charm books to give you ideas. And we have ideas to share, imagine that! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1/4" foot with flange
A snap on foot that will fit many makes and models of machines. Once you try this foot, it will be your " go to" foot for piecing.
We have had customers complaining that their blocks are not fitting together perfectly. Some folks are piecing with their basic foot instead of using a 1/4" piecing foot. It's very hard to guess at a seam allowance and why should you when you can have a foot that will take away the guess work? If some seams are wider than others naturally the block will end up a little wonky. Wonky usually doesn't work! A 1/4" foot with a flange is darn near perfect, stop in, we will show you how to be perfect every time.
Tip of the week~ Marking quilts can be a puzzle. Either you can't see the marks, they rub off or you worry that you won't be able to get the marker out of the fabric. Here is the perfect solution. Use a Frixon pen, you can easily remove the marks with heat. Just a little pass with your iron and the marking pen is gone. Sorry, I know that is way to easy!
